Rose Munk Heiberg
Rose Munk Heiberg carries a degree in Ensemble Conducting from the Royal Danish Music Conservatory. Furthermore she graduated in Musicology from the University of Copenhagen and in Percussion from Universidade Federal da Bahia, Brazil. She has also studied privately with Emmanuel Siffert, Donald Schleicher, Larry Rachleff, and Pinchas Steinberg.
From 2011 to 2014, Rose worked with the well-renowned Sort/Hvid Teater on their music productions. She has been the assistant conductor on multiple occasions at Operakompagniet and in 2017 she conducted their production of Cavalleria Rusticana. She has since 2012 conducted the Chamber Choir Audite and between 2014 and 2016 she conducted the Copenhagen Youth Symphonic Orchestra KUSO.
In the fall of 2015 she was assistant conductor for the San Juan Symphony Orchestra in Argentina on the production of Die Fledermaus and was reinvited as guest conductor in 2016. She conducted the Denmark premiere of Titanic – the Musical in the fall of 2017 with Teatret Gorgerne.
Rose has since 2018 conducted Copenhagen University’s Symphonic Orchestra SymfUni. In 2018 she also conducted Lionel Bart’s musical Oliver! and Mel Brooks’ musical Young Frankenstein with Reaview Teater and Teatret Gorgerne, respectively.
In 2019 she is invited as guest conductor for Cuenca Symphony Orchestra, and she is to conduct Hildegard von Bingen’s Ordo Virtutum in collaboration with the visual artist Sif Westerberg. Dido & Aeneas is also planned as a youth opera in addition to Opera Nordsjælland’s production of Eugene Onegin.
